And it starts...

Uh, haven't I been doing a good job with this blog?? Um, yeah right. Anyway, I think that's about to change. I realize now that I am suffocating. My job is stifling me. I'm not saying I'm leaving yet, but I need to open up that door. Right now, my portfolio is monkey poop. I haven't updated it, in fact, I haven't even used it....ever! I got this job before I graduated! So I have a lot of work ahead of me.

I think I might start with updating some of my school projects. First of all, all of my school files are gone because my external hard drive corrupted everything. So I need to start from scratch anyway. That's probably a good thing because I must be a better designer now than I was then.

Anyway, this weekend is a new beginning. I will probably start with these two projects.

#1 - Ubiquity
This was a citris flavored water beverage company thing. I made the ID, the packaging, etc. I can come up with an ad campaign and stuff. But I need to rework the designs. I loved the case I made. I wish I had a photo of it, I'll have to take one. It took me forever to make but I think it's successful. Here's a pic of the bottle I made in school.



#2 - Avalanche Ice Cream
ID and package design and stuff for an ice cream company that makes three flavors of ice cream swirled into one package. Like mixed up neopolitan ice cream. I liked my idea but it definitely needs some work. Especially that god awful logo! Yuck! But when I was first learning flash, I made this hokey flash intro of the ice cream scoops sliding down the mountain. Cheesey but fun! :-) Here's a pic of the container I made. I made like 4 or 5. Three little ones, in diff flavors and one or two big ones.



I sure hope I can take these and improve them a hundred times. It'll be a start.
